1. Meaning and aims of the CAC Accreditation Code

1.1. CAC Accreditation Code in the spirit of international standards specifies qualification requirements for professional coaches and development programmes, which provide coach-professional training.

1.2. CAC Accreditation Code builds on a principle of global coaching competences and respects all schools and approaches in coaching, which further develop these competences.

1.3. CAC Accreditation Code strives to

2. Qualification levels for coaches and development programmes

2.1. The name and brief characteristics of the qualification levels for coaches

2.1.1. Level one – Accredited Coach (hereafter AC). This level certifies that the coach has completed such general and special education, supervision and own practice, which quarantee their ability to work as a professional coach under running supervision of an accredited coach supervisor (see article 3.5.).

2.1.2. Level two – Accredited Professional Coach (hereafter APC). This level certifies that the coach has completed such general and special education, supervision and own practice, which quarantee their ability to work as a professional coach independently.

2.1.3. Level three – Accredited Professional Senior Coach (hereafter ASC). This level certifies that the coach has completed such general and special education, supervision and own practice, which quarantee their ability to work as a professional coach independently, take part in professional training of coaches.

 

2.2. The name and brief characteristics of the qualification levels for development programmes

2.2.1. Level one – Accredeted Development Coach Programme (hereafter ACP). This level certifies that this programme has such an expert content, educational form and methodology, which quarantee its ability to train coaches for AC qualification level.
2.1.2. Level two – Accredited Development Professional Coach Programme (hereafter APCP). This level certifies that this programme has such an expert content, educational form and methodology, which quarantee its ability to train coaches for APC qualification level.

2.3. Validity and renewal of qualification levels for coaches and development programmes

2.3.1. First qualification level for coaches is valid for the following 5 years form the date of the conferment. At this level, it is possible to get reaccreditation just once, which will be valid the following five years from the date of the conferment. (After that it is possible to strive only for a higher level of qualification.) Second and third qualification levels for coaches are valid for the following seven years from the date of the conferment. After meeting all requirements according to article 3.4.Qualification requirements for the renewal of coach accreditation, it is possible to apply for the renewal of qualification level. Any holder of this degree has a year to complete at least 4 supervisions, which he proves upon request of the Corporate Council. Otherwise he will lose the right to use the accreditation.

2.3.2. All qualification levels for development programmes are valid for the following 7 years form the date of the conferment. After meeting all requirements according to article 4.2. Renewal of qualification level of development programme, it is possible to apply for the renewal of qualification level.

2.3.3. With obtained accreditation from different coach associations (EMCC, ICF) it is possible to apply only for the first or second qualification level.

2.4. Expert evaluator

2.1.4. For purposes of the accreditation process and the similar needs within, CAC introduces the term "expert evaluator", in order not to disadvantage coaches with qualification from different coach association, or coaches who are qualified in another way.

Expert evaluator is

2.4.1.1. Every coach with the highest accreditation level (ASC), and coaches with the second level of accreditation, who are approved by Corporate Council.

2.4.1.2. The owner of a valid qualification level, which is received from another coach Association and is similar to the highest qualification level by CAC (ASC). A list of other coach associations with corresponding qualification levels will be published by the Corporate Council on the CAC website (since 06/2016).

2.4.1.3. The owner of a different qualification from a vocational institute, academic institution, etc., which is similar to the highest qualification level by CAC (ASC). The list of expert evaluators is set by the Corporate Council. 

 

3. Qualification criteria for coaches

3.1. Acredited coach (AC)


A. Formal education
University (at least a bachelor's degree)
(In rare cases, the Estates Council can grant an exemption to this point, but it will put special emphasis on the quality of competencies of such candidates.)
B. Special education in coach competencies 80 verifiable tutoring hours in a special education programme for coaches
(The Corporate Council can acknowledge different education degree, which leads to the growth of coach competencies; in that case The Council cannot acknowledge lower education degree in clause A.)

For non-accredited coach training will be demonstrated on the program structure of training and its overall length. It should be noted:
1) how many hours were dedicated to the development of coaching skills,
2) how many hours were dedicated to personal development,
3) how many hours were used to developing an ethical approach.
Successful graduation of Accredited Development Coach Programme (ACP). In the event that an accredited coach training does not provide the appropriate number of hours described in points C and D, the applicant must submit proof of the fulfilment of this difference.
C. Real experience as a coachee 10 verifiable hours of self-experiences in the role of a coachee
D. Coaching under supervision 15 verifiable hours of coaching under an individual or group supervision
E. Verification of coach competencies in an examination Presentation of the skill to apply coach competencies in front of an expert evaluator, who is named by the Corporate Council. The applicant will provide two video recordings (one hour long each) of his coaching with a brief description of the contract of the two recordings and case analysis of one of these recordings (description of 5-10 places where the coach uses his coaching skills and reflection the extent to which these interventions were effective)

 

F. Own coaching practice Verifiable realization of coaching in the extent of:
At least 150 hours in total
At least 135 hours paid
G. Coachee reference Written references from 3 coachees from the past year, including their contact information
H. Coaching activity in the past year Written confirmation about the realization of coaching during the past 12 months
I. Consent with the coach Ethics code Written consent of the CAC Ethics code

 

3.2. Accredited professional coach (APC)


A. Formal education
University (at least a bachelor's degree)
(In rare cases, the Estates Council can grant an exemption to this point, but it will put particular emphasis on the quality of competencies of such candidates.)
B. Special education in coach competencies 200 verifiable tutoring hours in a special education programme for coaches
(The Corporate Council can acknowledge different education degree, which leads to the growth of coach competencies; in that case The Council cannot acknowledge lower education degree in clause A.) 

(This may include psychotherapy training in one of the directions of humanistic psychotherapy, documented events of CAC, ICF and EMCC, etc.).
 
The number of hours evidenced in the first level of accreditation is included.
Successful graduation of Accredited development professional coach programme (APCP)

In the event that an accredited coach training does not provide the appropriate number of hours included in points B, C and D, the applicant must submit proof of the fulfilment of this difference.
C. Real experience as a coachee 15 verifiable hours of experiencing coaching in the role of a coachee. (Out of which at least 5 hours of coaching must be  with a coach who is either accredited by a minimum degree of APC; or with a coach whose professional experience and qualifications the Corporate Council recognizes - this can be experienced coaches from other professional coaching organizations, foreign coaches, etc.).
D. Coaching under supervision 30 verifiable hours of individual or group supervision (of which at least 5 hours has to be individual supervision with the same supervisor, who has a recognized supervisory skills - whether as a member of CAC, or other professional supervision organizations - e.g.,. ČIS (Czech Institute for Supervision) whose qualifications are recognized by the Corporate Council.)
E. Verification of coach competencies in an examination Presentation of the skill to apply coach competencies in front of an expert evaluator, who is named by the Corporate Council. The applicant will provide two video recordings (each one hour long) of his coaching with a brief description of the contract of the two recordings and case analysis of one of these recordings. (With a description of 5-10 places where the coach uses his coaching skills and reflections to evaluate the extent to which these interventions were effective).
F. Own coaching practice Verifiable realization of coaching in the extent of:
At least 750 hours in total
At least 675 hours paid
G. Coachee reference Written references from 5 coachees from the past three years, including their contact information

3.3. Accredeted supervisor coach (ASC)


A. Formal education
University (at least a bachelor's degree)
B. Special education in coach competencies 500 verifiable tutoring hours in a special education programs for coaches
(The Corporate Council can acknowledge different education degree, which leads to the growth of coach competencies; in that case The Council cannot acknowledge lower education degree in clause A.)

(This may include psychotherapy training in one of the directions of humanistic psychotherapy, documented events of CAC, ICF and EMCC, etc.).

The number of hours evidenced in the first level of accreditation is included.
Successful graduation of Accredited development coach supervisor programme (ACSP)

In the event that an accredited coach training does not provide the appropriate number of hours required in points B, C and D, the applicant must submit proof of the fulfilment of this difference.
C. Real experience as a coachee 50 verifiable hours of self-experiences in the role of a coachee
D. Supervision 50 verifiable hours of individual or group supervision (of which at least 10 hours has to be individual supervision with the same supervisor, who has a recognized supervisory skills - whether as a member of CAC, or other professional supervision organizations - e.g. ČIS (Czech Institute for Supervision) whose qualifications are recognized by the Corporate Council.)
E. Verification of coach competencies in an examination Presentation of the skill to apply coach competencies in front of an expert evaluator, who is named by the Corporate Council. The applicant will provide two video recordings. (Each one hour long) of his coaching with a description of the contract of the two recordings, a brief reflection on the coaching process and a brief description of which of his personal qualities were used when coaching (documented by links to the recordings) and which coaching approaches he integrates into his practice.
F. Own coaching practice Verifiable realization of coaching in the extent of:
At least 2500 hours in total
At least 2250 hours paid
At least 35 coachees
G. Coachee reference Written references from coachees from the past three years, including their contact information
H. Qualified coaches’ recommendation Written recommendation from coaches, accepted by the Corportae Counsil, with a testimonial about the coach experiences and the proficiency of the applicant

3.4. Qualification requirements for the renewal of coach accreditation


Continuous education of coaches

3.5. Accredited Coach – Supervisor (hereafter AC-S)

The accredited Coach - Supervisor is a coach who finished such general and special education, supervision and own practice, which guarantee his ability to work as a professional coach autonomously. – i.e. has got at least accrediting degree APC (Accredited Professional Coach) or a relevant professional qualification at other professional organizations (typically ICF, EMCC). Furthermore, he is authorized to carry out supervision of coaches.

If the coach is an accredited coach of the second or the third degree at CAC and he meet following requirements, he may use the suffix supervisor with a dash behind the name of this level - for example, Accredited Professional Coach - Supervisor


A. Special education in supervision
The coach finished supervisory training for coaches guaranteed by CAC or supervisory training organized by one of the Czech or foreign organizations, aimed at supervising trainings (e.g. ČIS), which the Corporate Council of CAC recognizes.
B. Supervision Proven realization of supervision of at least 20 hours.
C. Supervisee reference 5 written references from persons or representatives of the teams, the coach supervised within the past three years, with their contact information.
D. Supervision activities in the last year Affidavit of how many hours the coach supervised in the last twelve months. (Applicants may be asked for their confirmation.)

 

 

4. Qualification requirements for development programmes

4.1. To receive a qualification level of development programmes

I. Methodology and organizational structure of a programme Written description of the forms and methods used in the programme, which clearly explains the methodology provided for the participants to relevant knowledge, skills and (expecially by ACSTC) personality changes.
J. Expert guarantor of a programme The name and qualification of a programme guarantor, the description how he or she ensures the standardization of the programme in all its parts and his or her written proclamation that the programme will be guaranteed for the following seven years.
K. Programme lecturers and supervisors Names and qualification of lecturers and supervisiors of the programme, and written proclamation of the programme guarantor that he or she quarantees required professionality of all lecturers and supervisors and will do so for the following seven years.
L. Appointed compulsory reading list and educational tools The list of given compulsory study literature for the programme (maximum 10 textbooks) and a descrippption of other educational material, which is not listed in point I.
M. The number of programme graduets and references of certified coaches Minimum of 12 confirmable programme graduates and 5 written references from programme graduates.

 

4.2. Renewal of the qualification level of a development programme


A. Confirmation of the programme compatibility
Written guarantee that the programme consists of the at least the same number of hours with the same content structure as when (re)accrediting seven years ago.
B. Verification of coach competencies in an examination Written description of the differences of the process in which participants´ coaching skills were verified seven years ago and the process of the verification at the present time, including criteria of the participants´ assessment.
C. Content and organizational structure of a programme Written description of the differences of the content and programme organization seven years ago and at the present time.
D. Methodology and organizational forms of a programme Written description of the differences of the forms and methods used in thr programme 7 years ago and at the present time.
E. Expert guarantor of a programme The name and qualification of a programme guarantor, the description how he or she ensures the standardization of the programme in all its parts and his or her written proclamation that the programme will be guaranteed for the following seven years.
F. Programme lecturers and supervisors Names and qualification of lecturers and supervisiors of the programme, and written proclamation of the programme guarantor that he or she quarantees required professionality of all lecturers and supervisors and will do so for the following seven years.
G. Appointed compulsory reading list and educational tools The list of given compulsory study literature for the programme (maximum 10 textbooks) and a descrippption of other educational material, which is not listed in point I.
H. The number of programme graduets and references of certified coaches Minimum of 12 confirmable programme graduates in 2 terms in the past 7 years and 5 written references from programme graduates.

 

5. Process of coach and development programmes accreditation and reaccreditation


5.1. Submission of accreditation or re-accreditation application forms


5.1.1. (Re)accreditation applicant (hereafter “applicant”) sends a written (re)accreditation application form (hereafter "application") to an e-mail address akreditace@cako.cz or to a mail addres CAC – in this case the applicant writes the name “Accreditation” under the name of the “Czech Association of Coaches”.

5.1.2. Applications for accreditation are accepted throughout the year, and the Corporate Council decides on their acceptance at the next meeting after receiving a request to the CAC headquarters. 
In the case of missing information the Corporate Council asks candidates to supply them; otherwise, it will decide on their acceptance and the assignment of an expert evaluator. In the case of individual accreditations, the accreditation process will be launched within a month, in the case of the coaches training accreditation, within two months.

5.1.3. A complete application has to include an exact name of the (re)accreditation according to paragraph 2. Qualification levels of coaches and development programmes and information about qualification requirements are structured in qualification tables in paragraph 3 and 4, including all required documents.

5.1.4. Required documents (references, recommendations, testimonials, data, descriptioms, affirmaitons, consents and papers) must be signed by the issuer and submitted in credible form.

5.1.5. As credible CAC considers an electronic form that includes scanned copies of the original documents and an electronic signature (according the law number 227/2000, about the electronic signature, according the law number 226/2002 of the code, law number 517/2002, and law number 440/2004), and a printed document form that includes orinal or credible copies.

5.1.6. In case The Corporate Council (hereafter “Council”) has any doubts about the complexity of the application, it announces its written comments to the applicant including its decision, if the applicant can complete the application according the comments, or if the applicant comes to the Council meeting to negotiate personally. The announcement is sent to the applicant at least 2 weeks in advance of the Council meeting.

5.2. Preparation and Council meeting

5.2.1. The Council announces the dates of its meetings according to the needs in such a way that they are available on CAC website at least 3 months before the particular meeting.

5.2.2. In case of accreditation of coaches, which includes a compulsory examination of coaching skills of the applicant (see qualification tables), the Council appoints an expert adjudicator, one of the coaching supervisors (see paragraph 2.4), who will test the applicant. The council also announces the expert´s name and contact to the applicant at least 6 weeks before the date of the (re)accreditation. The applicant negotiates the date and the site of the examination with the expert adjudicator.

5.2.3. In case of accreditation of the development programmes, the Council appoints an expert adjudicator, one of the coaching supervisors (see paragraph 2.4.), who will assess the level of the (re)accreditation. The Council announces the expert´s name and contact to the applicant at least 10 weeks before the date of the (re)accreditation. The applicant negotiates the cooperation process with the expert adjudicator in such way that the expert is able to elaborate an expert opinion before the Council meeting.

5.2.4. The Council has the right to appoint one or more expert observers. In case of more expert adjudicator, only the designated one communicates with the applicant and with the Commettee.

5.2.5. The adjudicator prepares an expert opinion for the Council meeting. It has to be clear, if and why the adjudicator recommends or doesn´t recommend the applicant to get the particular (re)accreditation. In case of more adjudicators, the expert opinion is prepared according to their agreement or individually.

5.2.6. A payment can be awarded for the elaboration of the expert opinion. The CAC Presidium desides if it is awarded and about its extent.

5.2.7.  In the case of forfeiture of the accreditation, a former accredited coach can apply for re-accreditation within three years, failing to do so, he must apply for a full new accreditation.


5.3. The Council decision-making

5.3.1. The Council decision-maiking is based on a full application and expert opinions. If the qualification requirements follow the particular (re)accreditation process, the Council desides that the qualification level is awarded or renewed.

5.3.2. The Council can invite the applicant, if there is a need of personal explanation of any of the qualification requirements. The Council can as well invite the expert adjudicator.

5.3.3. The Council decides by the simple majority (not only the present) members of the Council. The members, who are not present, can take part via phones, lines, videoconference, or they can delegate their decision vote to another present Council member in writing.

5.3.4. The Council can bind the awarding or renewing of the qualification level by additional conditions (substantiate with some data and the like) with a deadline. After the fulfilment of this condition, which is controlled by the Council, it is presumed that the Council decided in the given deadline.

5.3.5. The Coucil announces the result of its decision making within one week from of the decision-making. In case the qualification level is awareded or renewed, basic data about the accredited coaches and development programmes will be announced on the CAC website within one month of the decision-making.

5.3.6. If the applicant asks for the issue of the certificate, it will be issued withing 6 weeks of the decision-making. As soon as the CAC website will be technicly able, this form of the certificate can be substituted by an authentic electronic certificate, which can be downloaded and printed by those interested.


5.4. Fees and rewards for the accreditation management

5.4.1. The applicant pays a fee for the accreditation or reaccreditation. The extent of the fee is quoted on the CAC website. The fee is due 30 days prior to the (re)accreditation date to the public CAC account and is unrefundable. If the fee is not payed within the maturity date, the Council can exlude the applicant from the accreditation process.

5.4.2. The CAC Presidium can offer a reward to the Council members and to expert adjudicators named by the Council for their work. CAC reimburces the operation expances to the Council members and to expert adjudicators named by the Council, which were spent in connection with the practice of their office (travel expances, opinion printing and the like), and were agreed on by the CAC Presidium.


6. Charges for accreditation and accreditation

6.1 The fee for accreditation and reaccreditation personal coach

The accreditation fee is 7000 CZK. The fee for individual coach reaccreditation is 3500 CZK. Both fees consist of two parts: 30% is due when applying for accreditation, and 70% is due within 30 days of receipt of the accreditation application. Therefore, simultaneously with the filing of the application, the first part of 30% of the total cost of the accreditation fee must be sent to CAC bank account no. 2000764827/2010. If the fee is not paid when due, the Council may exclude candidates from the accreditation process. The fee is non-refundable.

6.2 The fee for accreditation and re-accreditation of educational programs for coaches

The accreditation fee is 16.000 CZK. The fee is the same for both accreditation levels and consists of two parts: 30% is due when applying for accreditation, and 70% is due within 30 days of receipt of the accreditation application. Therefore, simultaneously with the filing of the application, the first part of 30% of the total cost of the accreditation fee must be sent to CAC bank account no. 2000764827/2010. If the fee is not paid when due, the Council may exclude applicants from the accreditation process. The fee is non-refundable.
